Jaclyn enjoys a focus on children and adolescents. As a foundation for all of her work Jaclyn fosters a safe, warm, non-judgmental environment that enables the client to feel empowered and supported in their journey towards healing and achieving their future goals.
Jaclyn uses a strength-based, client-centered, collaborative, and holistic approach that considers the mind, body, spirit and worldview of her client and their family.
She specializes in working with a myriad of issues including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, adolescent development, transition issues, attachment, and family systems. Jaclyn views the therapy relationship as an opportunity to help the client grow in all aspects of their life and reframe their thinking towards daily successes.
These approaches, coupled with her strong ability to develop effective therapeutic alliances with her clients, enhance her clinical abilities, especially when working with multicultural, diverse, adolescent and adult clients.
Training/Education
Jaclyn Headlam, LAC, is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) and a NJ Department of Education Certified School Counselor and Student Assistance Coordinator.
She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology (2008) and Master of Education degree in Counseling from Kean University (2013). She also attended Rutgers to complete her Certified Alcohol and Drug Counseling Certificate in (2016).
